DIEGOS - Traditional espadrille rope
- This rope is made of 2 individual ropes sewn together with a transparent thread. The size of one individual rope is 1 cm wide by 0.5 cm deep ( 0.4" x 0.2 ) - The size of both ropes sewn together is 2 cm wide by 0.5 cm deep ( 0.8" x 0.2 )
- This rope is specifically made in Spain to cover parts of the sole that would be made of cork, wood or any other material. (see pictures of soles). If you only need one individual rope, it's very easy to unstitch them.
- Made by José Luis, the last traditional rope-maker in Spain, with the help of his old machines that date back to the 1930s. These machines braid jute and recycled fibres into strong and malleable strands of rope. A skill that has been passed on from generation to generation.
