• These authentic espadrilles are entirely hand crafted, like the ones back in the sixties before the arrival of vulcanization and rubber soles.
• The sole is hand stitched by Vicente, nicknamed ''El borracho ", one of the last alpargateros (espadrille artisans) in northern Spain.
• The soles made of braided jute rope, are shaped and then hand sewn with a punch on a custom designed artisan wood bench .
• Espardenyas represent the art of hand making espadrilles as presented in this picture portraying Vicente crafting a traditional sole.
