One of the great things about making espadrilles is that even if you are not very experienced, if you make a mistake, you can unstitch and start over as many times as you want. This is not the case when making other types of shoes due to the common use of glue, a messy process where you only get one chance to get it right.

This is how traditional espadrilles have been made for hundreds of years, before the invention of the rubber. The vintage sole has been hand stitched by Vicente, nicknamed ''El borracho ", one of the last alpargateros (espadrille artisans) in northern Spain.
Finding the right size: Our soles are true to European size. If you want to make 100% sure you are getting the right size, measure the exact lenght of your foot and add roghly 1cm (0.4") to find the correct sole lenght you need.
